What 30 Classic Games Can Teach Us About Security
What do gamers and security professionals have in common? A lot more than you may think; gamers have the right mindset for security. When David Spark asked three dozen infosec professionals if gaming helped them hone their security skills, he got some fascinating comments. David shares their insights in an article entitled What 30 Classic Games Can Teach Us About Security on Dark Reading, the popular and trusted online cybersecurity news site and community. For example, Wendy Nather observed, “I learned how to think creatively, try functions in ways that were never intended, and hunt around for things to exploit. In other words, I learned to hack.” Indeed, gaming is often a very effective hidden form of training.
David’s article appears on behalf of Tenable Network Security as part of a Partner Perspectives initiative that Dark Reading is hosting. Over the next month, Tenable will share several articles about cybersecurity on the Dark Reading website, and we invite you to participate and comment on them.
